I can't find a picture. Who remembers it? Looked like shards of brightly colored stained glass-- rolled in powdered sugar so it looked like snow covered glass. Cinnamon (red), Lemon (yellow), Orange (duh, orange) and Spearmint (green). I wanted to bake today but I have no eggs. So being greener and frugaler (is that a word?) I passed on driving just for eggs. Instead I gave my candy a go. I want to give it out instead of cookies this year. Glass candy, homemade toffee, and some different confections. Something different this year and me not marinated in wheat flour being a brand new celiac patient...
So, I tried it. Lemon, specifically. And I think I did it! My grandmother and her friends made the glass candy every year. Lemon and cinnamon were my faves. Now my kitchen smells bright yellow and like my grandmother's kitchen at Christmas. Which makes me happy in my soul.
Later this week I'll try the others. I'm sure the batch from my maiden voyage will be gone by then!
XOXO

I could not find glass candy images, either. Though I know what you are talking about! But then I found these—and went off on a different tangent entirely!

I remember that stuff! oooh....you're giving me ideas!!
We're starting the goodie making spree tonight - buckeyes, whisky balls, caradamom cookies, marshmallows and so forth :D The fam loves getting the edibles and it saves me from having to figure out what to get for the person who doesn't need more clutter! ;)
You should take pics of *your* candy!
And I found this pic, this one and this one. Are they close? Oh! And here's another!
